Social historian specialising in food and dining, c.1600 onwards. Resident food historian on Radio 4’s The Kitchen Cabinet, sometimes to be seen on the telly as well. Holder of many opinions on food, both past and present. Research associate at the University of York. Freelance within the wide field of public history – lecturing, demonstrating, donning costume and cooking.
